HIS STORY: COACH GORRILLA
Thomas began his career as a basketball coach in 2015. As a sophomore in college at the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN), he saw an opportunity to become a Head Coach for the Varsity 8th grade boys team at St. Mark’s Catholic School just blocks from campus. After that first night of practice, he knew that coaching and helping athletes be the best they can be was his dream. The following year, he began training players from his team in the off-season, and soon took on his first collegiate player, a childhood family friend.
In 2017, Thomas graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in Health Promotion, and officially launched his training business that combined his passion of basketball skill development, performance training, and performance psychology. Since he began, he has now worked with hundreds of players ranging from 6 year olds to collegiate players in his hometown of Minneapolis, and surrounding areas.
Coach Gorrilla’s philosophy is rooted in positive relationships with athletes, teaching not only the intricate details of the game but one’s own mindset on the court and in life. His mission is to give those he works with, the tools to be a confident, fearless, and selfless individual so they can take on and achieve anything they set their mind to.
